LYSTER’S
Lyster's at dusk: the black-and-gold façade on Harold's Cross Road, warm light in the windows

Harold's Cross · Dublin 6W

Good food. Great pints.
Better stories.

A family-run pub in the heart of Harold's Cross village. A wood-fired oven, a proper pint, and a seat by the window whenever you need one.

The House

A local, in the truest sense.

Lyster's sits on the Harold's Cross Road, a few minutes south of the Grand Canal, in the part of Dublin that still keeps the feel of a village. Family-run and easy to settle into. The sort of place you come to for one and stay for three.

01Of the village

Harold's Cross has always been its own quiet corner of the city: the Victorian park, the long road into town, the regulars who have walked it for years. Lyster's keeps its door open to all of it, twenty minutes' stroll from the centre and a world away from it.

02A proper welcome

There's a particular comfort to a pint poured properly and a welcome that means it. People talk about the staff here the way you would talk about neighbours: friendly, unhurried, glad you came in.

03From the oven, from the bar

From the wood-burning oven come pizzas built on West Cork mozzarella. From the bar, a proper Guinness and a well-kept range of craft beers. Nothing fussy about any of it. Just done right, and brought to your table with a smile.

04The week, and its rhythm

Every week keeps its shape: cards on a Tuesday, the quiz on a Wednesday, comedy on the last Friday of the month, and a full, roaring room whenever Liverpool are playing. When the weather turns, it all spills out to the heated garden.
